Congratulations to Jashan and Jessica for their awards at the NUS 3MT Competition!
A huge congratulations to Ph.D. students Jashan Singh from Asst. Prof. Jennifer Young‘s lab and Jessica Evangeline Tan Kabigting from Assoc. Prof. Yusuke Toyama‘s lab for respectively winning 1st Runner Up and the Audience’s Choice Award at the NUS Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition!
According to 3MT, a typical thesis comprises a hefty 80,000 words and takes 9 arduous hours to present. This competition tasks Ph.D. students to take their theses and boil down each of them down into an easy-to-digest, 3-minute presentation. Jashan and Jessica rose to the challenge and adeptly demonstrated how complex research in mechanobiology, which itself is an entanglement of multiple sciences, can be articulated in the same amount of time it takes to cook a cup of noodles. MBI would like to commend them on their achievements and contributions to science communication!
