The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) is delighted to welcome the 2025 cohort of Ph.D students. Coming from a rich tapestry of countries – China, Vietnam, Singapore, India and the Philippines – these eleven outstanding individuals bring with them interdisciplinary expertise and fresh perspectives that will enrich MBI’s vibrant research community.
To kickstart the beginning of this exciting chapter, MBI has organised a two-week bootcamp introducing the cohort to the institute’s cutting-edge research, methodologies and lab protocols. The bootcamp leads up to a TGIF reception on 15th August providing an opportunity to connect with the MBI community as we also celebrate and extend heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class.
Among the new cohort are some familiar faces: Miguel SOON Jun Yi (PGF Scholar) from the MUST Intern 2023 program, NGUYEN Dinh Thach Lam (ARS Scholar) and QUAN Cheng from the MUST Intern 2024 program – all returning with renewed enthusiasm to their research. The rest of the interdisciplinary group includes CHEAM Mei Shan, Diya NARANG, Hannah Abilaguyo YUSON (ARS Scholar), HOANG Mai Thanh Truc, LYU Min, YAN Chengrui, ZHAO Jiayu and ZHUANG Zirui.
As these students prepare to begin their lab rotations and dive deeper into their research interests, MBI encourages the entire community to welcome them with open arms. The institute thrives on collaboration and sharing of ideas, and we are excited to see what they will accomplish in the coming years.
Welcome to MBI – let the adventure begin!
