I would like to announce the next MBI Theory Journal Club meeting hosted by Dr. Yuting Lou (Hiraiwa group). Yuting will introduce her new preprint [ https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.03074 ] about the role of ECM dynamics in mediating long-range mechanical forces.

Theory Journal Club Meeting: Propagating Long-Range Forces on Weakly Adhesive Substrates

By Yuting Lou, Research Fellow, MBI

Meeting Summary
In their preprint, Yuting and colleagues reveal a striking mechanism of dynamic force propagation in a substrate under a tissue. During the meeting, Yuting will explain why this phenomenon only occurs with substrates that are able to slide but not with a conventional TFM protocol. She will also cover the details of a theoretical model they use to predict the experimental data and also related techniques in processing the data.
