Biography

Emily Chan completed her PhD in Biophysics at Ohio State, where she investigated the role of mechanical forces in cancer cell migration and cell death under the guidance of Prof. Comert Kural and Prof. Jonathan Song. Her doctoral research focused on cell adhesion dynamics, endocytosis, and membrane tension in breast cancer cells. She now investigates the molecular mechanisms linking microtubules and the nucleus through the LINC complex during cell migration and fibrosis, through a collaboration between Prof. Alexander Bershadsky and Prof. Yin Loon Lee (A*STAR).
