An Afternoon Visit to MBI by JC Students across Singapore
On 12th July, MBI greeted 19 students belonging to various local Junior Colleges across the island. The students were taken on an exciting educational journey that acquainted them with the multifaceted realm of mechanobiology and the fascinating techniques used to untangle the science behind. Post-introduction, the students were chaperoned by the graduate student volunteers and toured the labs and core facilities. There, they witnessed a series of nifty scientific demonstrations performed by the High-throughput Molecular Genomics Core, Nano- and Microfabrication Core and SiMBA-Microscopy Core. MBI hopes that the student had an enlightening first-hand experience with the crossover of biology, physics, and engineering and that future visits can continue to inspire generations of mechanobiologists to come.
