Seeking Scientific Communicator at the Mechanobiology Institute, National University of Singapore

Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI), National University of Singapore is a research institute dedicated to investigating biological processes through the viewpoint of physics and mechanics.

We are looking for an individual to join us in our Scientific Communications team where you will plan, develop, and implement communications strategies to promote MBI’s research output and spotlight MBI scientists.

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, produce, and oversee content for communications materials such as newsletters, online platforms, and brochures.
  • Manage digital presence across online platforms including the institute’s website and social media channels
  • Organize and support outreach events and activities such as conferences, open houses, and external visits.
  • Support MBI scientists in preparing impactful presentations and grant applications for media events, conferences, and grant calls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree holder or higher, preferably in science or engineering with communication experience, or in journalism/communications with a proven interest in science and engineering
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good command of English, written and spoken
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in using digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and video/photography skills will be an added advantage
