About Dr Renuga Gopal

Renuga is a scientist-entrepreneur, who was born and raised in Singapore. As a young girl, like many who have a passion for science, she assumed that she would become an engineer or a scientist. However, through a series of fortunate events, she evolved to be an entrepreneur. Renuga co-founded her first company BioMers, while pursuing her PhD at NUS in Mechanical Engineering. At BioMers, she learnt many valuable lessons  – made mistakes – that shaped her both personally and professionally. When at a crossroad after seven years at BioMers, she decided to leave the comfort of a secure job and find herself again. This time-off eventually led to Renuga starting 2 other companies in late 2013. She is currently the CEO of one of those companies – Matralix, which is also a spin-off from NUS. In this sharing session, she will talk about her journey that led to her career path.
