Interference based mapping of membrane fluctuations and mechanics in nucleated adherent cells

By Arikta Biswas, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata, India

Host: Chii Jou Chan

Biography
Arikta Biswas was an Integrated PhD student at the Department of Biological Sciences in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata. She worked on setting up interference as a tool to map membrane mechanics at the Cell Biophysics Lab during her PhD work. And she received her degree in June 2020 for her thesis entitled “Interference based mapping of membrane fluctuations and mechanics in nucleated adherent cells”. She has a Bachelors’ degree in Engineering (Biotechnology) and is interested in using multi-disciplinary approaches to study the mechanical properties of living systems at different levels of organization.
