The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multi-disciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Kanchanawong Lab on a project studying the interplay between cell adhesion proteins and cell division. Using advanced microscopy and molecular manipulation techniques, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and design experiments related to cell adhesion proteins and cell division
  • Utilize advanced microscopy techniques to analyze biological processes
  • Assist in laboratory management, including inventory, ordering, and general lab upkeep
  • Collaborate closely with team members across disciplines to achieve research goals
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and publications

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Proven research experience demonstrated by publications in relevant areas
  • Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques such as molecular cloning, cell culture, and bioinformatic analysis
  • Prior experience with laboratory management is highly desirable
