Joint Symposium on Bioimaging between Singapore and Bioimaging Society of Japan
A Joint Symposium on Bioimaging between Singapore and Japan is being organized jointly by NUS Centre for Bioimaging Sciences, Mechanobiology Institute and the Japan Bioimaging Society on the 20-21st May 2017.
The organizers of the Symposium are Paul Matsudaira and Kazuo Suzuki. As part of the Symposium, a “Women in Science” Symposium is being co-organized by Linda Kenney, Naoko Iida-Tanaka, and Kahoko Hashimoto.
We look forward to your participation at the Symposium.

Featured Speakers
Michael Sheetz, Mechanobiology Institute
National University of Singapore
The morphology of cells, organs and whole organisms is determined by the generation of forces on the immediate environment, which is either extracellular matrix or adjacent cells. The Sheetz Lab is engaged in studies to understand the detailed molecular mechanisms involved in a variety of phenomena from cancer metastasis to brain function.Learn more about Prof Sheetz’s research.
Shin’ichi Ishiwata, Department of Physics
Waseda University, Japan
Self-Excited Oscillation Phenomena (SPOC) and Physiological Significance of Muscle Contraction System, Elucidation of the principle of operation of molecular machines by single molecule microscopic analysis, Elucidation of action and control mechanism by force lurking in cell division kinetics.
